Home Smell Good
Home Smell Good
There is nothing more embarrassing than when your guests walk into your dirty house that smells like dirty clothes, sweaty sheets, dirty socks, dusty refrigerators, a dirty toilet, and just about anything else that causes an unpleasant smell in the air. Here are some ways to avoid such an embarrassing situation.
Make sure your house is properly ventilated
Stale air is warmer and tends to rise. This warm, moist air carries odors and must be removed to make room for fresh air. This is why proper ventilation is mandatory. A properly ventilated house allows the existing odor to escape and helps the circulation of fresh air.
Clean out the fridge once (or twice) a month
Sometimes it is difficult to determine what is causing the smell. One place that can become the headquarters of a putrid smell is your refrigerator. If the fridge is not cleaned regularly, it can get really messy and smelly. Clean your refrigerators once a month. You don't want your guests breathing in the wind of a foul smell when you open the fridge to bring them drinks.
Don't rely on room fresheners
It's often tempting to spritz room fresheners all over the place to get rid of the smell, but it's not a cure for the problem. While this can quickly mask the odor and make your house smell nice for your guests, the effects would be temporary. What if guests want to spend a night or two at your house? What if he wakes up the next morning to the disgusting smell of that kitchen tub before you can spray the room freshener all over the place? Treat the source of the odor rather than mask it.
