Cancer and Alzheimer's
The biggest killers in America are heart disease, obesity, cancer,
and Alzheimer's disease. Want to learn something interesting? All these diseases are associated with insulin and leptin resistance. Put simply: there is an underlying problem that is caused by eating too much carbohydrate and/or protein.
and Alzheimer's disease. Want to learn something interesting? All these diseases are associated with insulin and leptin resistance. Put simply: there is an underlying problem that is caused by eating too much carbohydrate and/or protein.
The processed foods and grains that Americans consume like fads are loaded with sugars. By eating all these sugars, the body develops a resistance to leptin and insulin, and as a result, the body stores fat. Additionally, this resistance can trigger inflammation and cell damage.
How can you fix it?
It may be time for your body to enter nutritional ketosis. This means your body will start burning fat instead of glucose (sugar). As more research has emerged, studies suggest that the ketogenic diet could be the answer to many health problems, including cancer, heart disease, obesity, diabetes, and Alzheimer's disease.
The ketogenic diet is a very low-carb diet that primarily consists of healthy fats, omega-3 fatty acids, and omega-9 fatty acids. You can get most of these from foods such as sprouted nuts and seeds, avocados, coconut oil, or olive oil, among many others. The goal of this diet is to completely eliminate glucose, with the exception of whole fruits and vegetables, so that your body starts burning fat for energy. The body only burns fat for energy after glucose is no longer available. Not only does this promote optimal health, but it helps you lose weight more efficiently because your body is constantly burning fat for energy.
There are certain people who shouldn't jump right into a ketogenic diet. If you are diabetic and on medication, on high blood pressure medication, or breastfeeding, you need to take some extra precautions, so do a little research before starting a diet.
